MAXTECH has recently signed a batch procurement agreement with a well‑known French offshore engineering company: a total of 10 offshore cranes to be delivered in several batches for equipment supply on multiple marine projects worldwide.
At present, the first crane has entered the detailed design phase. Our engineering team is precisely adapting it to the client’s platform parameters, and production is scheduled to start next month. The remaining nine offShore Cranes will enter the design process progressively according to the project schedule. This order is not only the largest single batch of offshore cranes since MAXTECH was founded, but also represents full recognition from the European high‑end market of MAXTECH’s technical strength, delivery capability and service system.
Why France? Why Ten Offshore Cranes?
The French client has an outstanding reputation in offshore oil & gas, wind‑farm installation and special vessels, and its supplier selection process is extremely stringent. Before finally choosing MAXTECH, the client conducted months of technical audits, factory inspections and reference checks.
The key factors that won the client over include:
- Full certifications – MAXTECH Marine Cranes can be supplied with major classification society certificates (BV, API‑2C, ABS, CCS, etc.), meeting the client’s global compliance requirements.
- Customisation capability – To address the client’s specific platform space limitations and dynamic load demands, MAXTECH engineers provided multiple rounds of optimised solutions. The first crane is now being designed precisely to the client’s “one crane, one drawing” specification.
- Smart technology – The MAX+Smarts intelligent monitoring system (wire rope online monitoring, slewing bearing wear detection, anti‑sway control, predictive maintenance) was a key differentiator, helping the client reduce long‑term operating costs.
- Balanced price and delivery – Compared with traditional European brands, MAXTECH offers competitive pricing and shorter delivery times while maintaining the same certification and quality standards.
First ship Crane in Design, Production Next Month; Remaining Nine to Follow
Currently, design work for the first offshore crane is progressing intensively. Our engineering team maintains weekly technical coordination with the French client to ensure every detail meets the operational requirements. As planned, steel cutting and production will begin next month.
Meanwhile, the client has confirmed the technical framework for the remaining nine cranes. Design of the second and third units will start gradually following the progress of the first crane. Over the next 12 months, all ten cranes will be manufactured, tested and delivered, and MAXTECH will send engineers on‑site for installation supervision.
Significance: From “Going Global” to “Being Embraced”
For MAXTECH, this order means much more than just numbers:
- A “vote of confidence” from the European high‑end market – The French client represents the highest standards of European offshore engineering. A batch order of ten cranes proves that MAXTECH has passed the most rigorous “entry test”.
- Validation of design and batch delivery capability – Moving from single‑unit customisation to a batch order of ten deck cranes puts MAXTECH’s design coordination, supply chain management and quality consistency to the test in real life.
- Large‑scale deployment of smart solutions – All ten marine cranes are pre‑wired with MAX+Smarts interfaces, allowing the client to activate smart monitoring functions step by step according to operational needs, opening the door for future digital services.
Looking Ahead: More Breakthroughs on the Way
With the design of the first offshore crane advancing, MAXTECH’s European team has already started discussions with the same client about follow‑up requirements for projects in Africa and Southeast Asia. At the same time, driven by this order, several other European offshore wind‑farm installation vessel companies are in talks with MAXTECH for similar batch purchase intentions.
From 0 to 1 is technology validation; from 1 to 10 is capability recognition.
MAXTECH will continue to follow the core philosophy of “reliable, smart, customised” and deliver higher‑value lifting solutions to shipowners and offshore engineering customers worldwide.
