On January 27th, a surveyor from BV, a globally authoritative third-party testing and certification organization, was invited to MAXTECH’s production base to conduct comprehensive inspections on the company’s newly developed semi-knuckle boom telescopic crane and core supporting components, which are tailor-made for overseas clients. The inspected equipment covers three operating conditions: 1.5t@15m, 10t@3.05m, and 0.5t@18.1m. As an innovative product independently developed by MAXTECH to meet the special operational needs of overseas clients, the crane feature a relatively new design. Meanwhile, the fully electric winches and hydraulic stations, as key supporting components, also underwent rigorous compliance and performance testing, marking a crucial step toward the overseas delivery of this customized project.
The techincal parameter of marine crane:
| SWL | 1.5t@15m& 10t@3.05m& 0.5t@18.1m |
| Max working radius | 18.1m |
| Min working radius | 3.05m |
| Hoisting speed | 0-12m/min |
| Luffing speed | 0-0.8r/min |
| Slewing angle | ≤360° |
| First luffing time | ~50s |
| Boom extension time | ~60s |
As a professional manufacturer deeply rooted in the offshore and port equipment industry, MAXTECH’s semi-knuckle boom telescopic crane launched this time is a typical result of "customer customization + technological innovation." It is reported that the overseas client has long faced the demand for lifting operations across multiple scenarios and variable loads, where conventional cranes struggle to simultaneously adapt to complex working conditions such as long-distance light-load lifting and short-distance heavy-load lifting. To address this pain point, MAXTECH’s technical team spent much time tackling key challenges and innovatively adopted a composite structural design of "semi-knuckle boom + telescopic boom." This design not only retains the semi-knuckle boom crane’s advantage of flexible operation in confined spaces but also integrates the long-distance operational capability of telescopic boom crane. By quickly switching operating modes, the marine crane can meet diverse requirements: a 15-meter working radius under 1.5 tons of load, a 3.05-meter working radius under 10 tons of load, and an 18.1-meter working radius under 0.5 tons of load. It perfectly adapts to the client’s differentiated needs in scenarios such as port loading and unloading, and offshore platform operation and maintenance.
To ensure the products meet international standards and client requirements, MAXTECH specially invited BV’s surveyor to conduct authoritative third-party testing. At the inspection site, the surveyor carried out all-dimensional inspections on the ship crane of the three operating conditions in accordance with international standards for marine and offshore engineering equipment: starting with structural strength, they verified the pressure-bearing stability of core components such as booms and frames under different loads through load tests; focusing on safety performance, they emphasized testing the sensitivity and reliability of overload alarm devices, limit switches, and emergency braking systems; checking operational accuracy, they tested the smoothness and positioning precision of boom extension, luffing, and slewing movements by simulating actual working conditions. Every test data was recorded in real time and strictly compared to ensure the equipment performance meets the standards.
At the same time, as the "power core" and "control center" of the deck crane, the fully electric winches and hydraulic stations also underwent special inspections. The surveyor team tested key indicators of the fully electric winches, such as the response speed of the braking system, the regularity of wire rope winding, and the motor operation efficiency, with a focus on verifying their stability during long-term operations; they conducted comprehensive checks on the hydraulic stations’ sealing performance, pressure regulation accuracy, and oil temperature control capability, ensuring the hydraulic systems have no leakage or failures under complex working conditions and providing reliable support for the cranes’ efficient operation.
The smooth conduct of the BV inspection has not only cleared the compliance hurdles for the overseas delivery of this customized new-type marine crane but also demonstrated MAXTECH’s relentless pursuit of product quality and firm determination for international development. In recent years, MAXTECH has continuously focused on customized R&D and the construction of international compliance systems. With innovative designs and reliable quality, its products have been exported to many regions around the world. Looking ahead, the company will continue to be customer-oriented, deepen technological innovation, strictly control product quality, and through in-depth cooperation with international authoritative institutions, let more high-end equipment of "Intelligent Manufacturing in China" gain the trust and recognition of the global market.
